Overview

  • Interface with Global external customers to implement and maintain automated exchange of electronic data.
  • Interface with Global internal customers to fulfill business and technical requirements for exchange of electronic data
  • Coordinate with IT staff to effectively interface e-commerce activity to business application processes. 
  • Maintain production EDI systems and ensure smooth transition when changes or maintenance is performed. 

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate effective, dependable, automated flow of electronic data between Fellowes, Inc and Global business partners, ecommerce and applications processing systems. Effectively use file management tools to communicate with Global Trading Partners to facilitate EDI activity using FTP, AS2 protocols and VAN activity
  • Design, construct and maintain a system comprised of Gentran EDI software components, batch scripting, coordinated scheduling and associated network system components that consistently satisfy the requirement of the Fellowes Global business in an automated fashion. Research and implement changes to take advantage of new technology, tighten controls, or improve efficiencies.
  • Gather business requirements, conduct business analysis, propose effective remedies, develop and deploy scalable, well-coordinated and comprehensive solutions to business problems. Coordinate and communicate with our global customers and vendors to ensure alignment of our respective standards, policies and business data requirements.
  • Create, document and maintain EDI standards, policies and business data requirements that are consistent with the requirements of other Fellowes business systems. Coordinate with our global customers and vendors to ensure alignment of our respective standards, policies and business data requirements.
  • Manage the installation, usage and overall availability of Gentran, the EDI software. Maintain a working knowledge of its working components and how Gentran can be best used in benefiting the global business. Coordinate with IBM technical support, Fellowes system engineers on matters regarding this software’s environment and upgrade.
  • Manage the installation, usage and overall availability of Cleo’s VL Trader software and components, which facilitates file management between EDI systems and other internal and external systems. Manage the installation, usage and overall working conditions of EDIFECS, a data documentation tool designed especially for EDI standards.

Qualifications

Skills and Abilities:

  • Interface with Global external customers to implement and maintain automated exchange of electronic data.
  • Interface with Global internal customers to fulfill business and technical requirements for exchange of electronic data.
  • Coordinate with IT staff to effectively interface e-commerce activity to business application processes. 
  • Maintain production EDI systems and ensure smooth transition when changes or maintenance is performed. Maintain the EDI systems to ensure system availability. 
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time and can adjust priorities as they change accordingly and can deliver on time. 
  • Ability to work with business users, IT staff, and vendors to gather business requirements, project planning, design, test, implement, communicate and document for change requests or new demands. 
  • A practical aptitude for specific business concepts (Sales, order processing, distribution, payables, receivables, purchasing, etc.) and the associated processes. 
  • Great verbal and written communication skills when working with business partners, vendors and trading partners.
  • 4-6 years of experience working with Gentran, VLTrader, EDI maps, process controls and communications.

 

Education:

2 Years of college academic or 4 years college/university degree

 

Experience:

4-6 years experience. Exposure to multiple business/technical environments. Experience in EDI project and application design, implementation and support.
