     Job Description

    Reporting to the Director of Business Technology Solutions, this important position is responsible for managing IT’s Operations and Infrastructure teams, their tasks and responsibilities, which include infrastructure, networks, outsourcing, telephony, Security & Compliance, and computer auxiliary operations and support, along with vendor management and contract negotiations.


    The successful candidate is a hands-on mentor, and a visionary leader that will define and deploy the future strategy for this team and our Global department in consultation with others internally and externally to IT. Must focus heavily on identifying various elements that can aid the company in achieving its short and long term strategies globally.


    As important to the candidate success is the ability to play a key role in refining the ways of working guidelines for the IT department, and introducing planning & communications elements, that can be relied on by all company employees moving forward.


    • Verify, modify, and design architectures of new and existing infrastructures for robustness, cost effective development, and business growth. Stay current on latest software and hardware technology so the business can leverage.
    • Develop/Refine the team’s ways of working processes that can address work planning, resource allocation, prioritization, and communications with emphasis on measuring team efficiency, and productivity.
    • Implement structured processes, security policies and procedures, hardware and software health monitoring, backup and recovery systems. Ensuring full DR within our environment and compliance in our security measures. Must continuously define, test, implement and refine the DR strategy and setup.
    • Responsible for assisting management in the selection, evaluation, negotiation, and management of third party services and vendors.
    • Must define Service Level Agreements for all services supported by this group, and live up to minimum 95% SLA level.
    • Acts as front-line contact with others in the organization, ensuring key competencies such as full issue resolution, and communications, among other things, are being addressed fully and to completion. Specifically responding to concerns with clear and concise feedback.
    • Has the primary responsibility for the timely and quality delivery of all requests made to the team. This includes managing and reporting of the team's related projects.
    • Must continue to educate, train, and build on existing documentations, and make sure any developed documentations adhere to defined standards.
    • Manages communications among team members, business members, and other stakeholders in a clear, concise and consistent manner.


    Education and Relevant Experience

    • Bachelor Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field. 
    • Master Degree in Technology or Business preferred.
    • At least 8 years experience in Information Technology management in this particular area.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Minimum 8 years related experience in a management role.
    • Minimum of 5 years' hands-on technical experience building and supporting many of the following services and technologies:
      • WAN/LAN networks (Cisco)
      • Storage/SAN (Pure) 
      • Remote connectivity (Citrix/Xen)
      • Data centers (private, cloud and hybrid)
      • VIOP/Telephone communications
      • Video Conferencing 
      • Active Directory
      • Physical and Virtual servers 
      • Backup and archiving services
      • Active Directory
      • Disaster recovery
    • Extensive experience leading infrastructure delivery teams inclusive of scope, scheduling, budgeting and project planning.
    • Individual leader and contributor who demonstrates initiative and ability to work independently.
    • Outstanding performer, persistent and pro-active leader, exceptionally detail oriented and driven to exceed expectations.
    • Visionary leader, problem solver with passion for excellence.
    • Strong customer relationship and customer service skills.
    • Experience with proper testing, documentation, and communication techniques.
    • Experience working with third party vendors, negotiating contracts and oversight of vendor resources.
    • Ability to work effectively under aggressive timelines and high pressure situations.
    • Excellent written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal skills.
    • Significant practical experience managing multiple initiatives simultaneously, utilizing appropriate processes and tools and delivering results.
    • Strong working experience managing budgets in excess of 2 to 3 million introducing regular cost savings or business efficiencies through technology introduction.
    • Minimum experience of 3 to 5 years supporting a global environment in a management role.
