    Job Description

     

    Primary Functions

    • Maintain a safe work environment for employees, contractors and visitors.
    • Protect company property and assets.
    • Respond, investigate and document incidents that occur on company property.

    Responsibilities

    • Conduct internal and external tours of the facility to identify and report at risk behaviors, hazards, rule violations, and life safety/security equipment failures.
    • Operate and have knowledge of the building's life safety systems which includes fire alarm & fire suppression systems, access control system, public announcement system, and surveillance system.
    • Respond quickly, efficiently, and courteously to major incidents involving severe weather, accidents, injuries, fires, power outages, theft, building evacuations, etc.
    • Conduct thorough and professional investigations, submit incident reports regarding events that occur on or affect company property, and participate in ongoing legal investigations/lawsuits and attend depositions or court proceedings as required
    • Provide excellent customer service and facility access to our customers (employees, contractors, visitors, emergency personnel, etc.)
    • Work extensively with various computer systems and phones
    • Perform first aid, CPR, and use AED
    • Maintain the facility's key/badge inventory
    • Conduct drug & alcohol screens
    • Perform ESS audits and observations

    Qualifications

    Abilities/Skills

    • Ability to lift 50 pounds
    • Perform current CPR & AED requirements
    • Proficient in Windows based and access control/surveillance software
    • Safely operate PIV and company van
    • Ability to see, hear, read, walk and smell (for purposes of conducting ESS observations and incident investigations)
    • Demonstrate high integrity and comply with all company rules, exercise good judgment, courtesy and professionalism

     

    Education

    • High school diploma required
    • Degree in Criminal/Social Justice preferred

    Experience

    • Minimum 1 year of security related experience.
    • Corporate/Warehouse/Manufacturing experience preferred
    • Years of experience can be substituted for years of higher education within a Criminal/Social Justice program

     

    Additional Qualifications

    • Must be available to work 12 hours shifts from 6am to 6pm with a rotating schedule (3 days on, 3 days off, 4 days on, 4 days off)
    • Must posses a valid IL drivers license
    • Pass a criminal background check that includes no felony, theft or DUI/DWI-related convictions
    • Pass a drug test.
