    The Role      


    Tapped as the successor to our VP of Finance & Controller, the Assistant Controller is a strategic partner with a pension for going beyond the innate technical aspects of the role and really getting involved in the business. You will provide functional leadership and professional advice/expertise about financial data and activities that will assist management, shareholders and others in making educated economic decisions about our company's future. We want to identify new ways of doing things, from the way we service the business to streamlining processes and improving how we present information - and you will be instrumental in making these recommendations and driving that change.


    You will…


    • Lead the effort to provide financial forecasts and to consolidate forecast results
    • Conduct analysis and reporting as needed to provide timely and relevant information and recommendations to help manage financial performance and risk
    • Ensure timely and accurate budget analysis and financial review for management team, and use your experience to identify areas for further scrutiny
    • Develop and recommend finance policies, procedures and systems that align with company objectives
    • Take the lead internally in preparing for, and managing, the annual audit
    • Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, enhances the company's value and ensures compliance
    • Proactively contribute ideas, solutions and services to maximize Fellowes’ ability to meet its objectives and improve the company’s financial performance
    • Build, develop and manage five (5) accounting team members
    • Manage vendors, to include cost and contract negotiations and recommendations as well as ensuring a high level of quality is provided
    • Identify and track metrics to measure the effectiveness of the company’s accounting and related efforts; drive improvement
    • Participate in special projects and undertake specific assignments as needed to address specific business needs


    What You Bring to the Team


    • A minimum of seven (7) years’ finance and accounting experience in consumer goods, manufacturing, distribution or other similar industry/environment, to include a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in staff management
    • A Bachelors Degree
    • A strategic business sense coupled with sharp technical skills
    • A solid understanding of GAAP and regulations
    • Experience overseeing financial income tax provisions
    • The ability to influence and implement change
    • A highly collaborative and customer service-oriented spirit
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills
    • An openness to travel up to 5%, to include international travel


    You May Also Have…


    • An MBA or other related graduate degree
    • A CPA
    • Experience in a global company
    • Experience in an ERP system, i.e., Oracle, and/or previous experience with budget systems and/or CRM systems
