As an Engineering Project Manager, you will own and lead the design, development and flawless execution of the launch of new products across the Fellowes Brands portfolio. You will think like a consumer in the design of products to ensure we exceed expectations for ease of use, performance and value, and ultimately drive a competitive advantage in the marketplace. You will collaborate and coordinate cross-functionally with a number of internal teams to ensure product launches deliver upon business team objectives and strategies.

 

You will… 

  • Own and lead multiple, complex new product development projects from initiation to close
  • Collaborate and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure products launch to design requirements, on time, at cost and with high quality
  • Coordinate with external design firms and/or internal R&D in the development of product concepts
  • Designs and executes products that deliver customer satisfaction and loyalty
  • Leverage diverse resources, including multiple teams overseas, to execute goals of projects and evaluate resources based on evolving needs of the projects
  • Develop and maintain detailed product development timelines and meets target milestones
  • Develop comprehensive technical specifications and performance expectations for multiple product categories
  • Prepare and present data and ideas effectively and in a timely manner
  • Document the process and communicate project status effectively throughout the organization, including project stage gate presentations to the CEO and Executive Team members
  • Manage continuous improvement projects that lead to improved processes, documentation or overall improvement in product development efficiency
  • Travel 5-10% domestically and possibly internationally, depending on the project

 

What You Bring to the Team

  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in product development, to include cross-functional project management experience
  • Experience with and an understanding of how to design with plastics, metals and/or woods
  • Working knowledge of consumer product manufacturing is a plus
  • Experience with manufacturing/production is a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of 2D/3D SolidWorks software
  • Creative thinking and strong problem-solving skills
  • The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • A positive attitude with the ability to motivate and lead teams consisting of non-direct reports (leading without authority)
  • Effective presentation skills
  • A bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
  • A PMP Certification is a plus
